Who is Drew Brees?

Drew Christopher Brees was born on 15 January 1979 (age 45 as of 2024) is an American football player who played for NFL for over 20 seasons. He was born in Dallas, Texas. His father is Eugene Wilson “Chip” Brees II and mother is Mina Ruth. His father was a trial lawyer and his mother was an attorney who eventually died on 7 August 2009 at the age of 59 due to overdosage of drugs. His grandfather also fought the Battle of Okinawa which was codenamed as Operation Iceberg. He was married to Brittany Dudchenko in February 2003. 

He lives with his 4 childrens Baylen Robert Brees, Bowen Christopher Brees, Callen Christian Brees and Rylen Judith Brees. Brees completed his schooling from Westlake High School in Austin, where he excelled in football. His performance earned him a scholarship to Purdue University, where he played football and graduated with a degree in Industrial Management. At Purdue, Brees set many records and established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in college football history. He is also profond for cancer patients, that’s why he and his wife started a foundation ‘Brees Dream Foundation’ in the year 2003.

His Career

Drew Brees was the backup quarterback to Doug Flutie(American former football quarterback), who started all 16 games that season. He played in his first professional game on November 4, 2001, against the Kansas City Chiefs. On August 19, 2002, Drew was named the starter for the 2002 season over Doug Flutie. He remained as the starter throughout the 2004 season, where he played 15 games. In the year 2005, the team eventually designated Brees as a franchise player, and gave him a one-year contract that increased his pay to $8 million. Under the terms and conditions of the franchise player contract, Brees was eligible to be traded or to sign with another team but the Chargers would receive two future first-round draft choices in return.
